Frequently Asked Questions

Is it OK to come alone?

Absolutely. The original idea of hosting dancers in Cairo at my home was to make it easy, safe and fun for single travellers. You may often be able to team up with other guests for activities, but even if you don’t, we make sure you get around safely and easily, and don’t miss out on seeing and doing things just because you are by yourself.

Yes! Most of our guests are coming for dance activities, but you are welcome to bring your partner, and we accommodate guests of all ages.

The B&B is open all year round, but bear in mind the summer months are very hot. I myself am almost never there from June to September, however, whenever I am away I have an assistant who makes sure your stay runs smoothly.

We send you a list of teachers and you choose (or I can recommend) who is best for you depending on what exactly you want to study. Then we contact them and make the arrangement. Of course I am also available to teach when I am there.

Email me for details on group rates and special activities for dance groups.

We cater to all food preferences and needs.

For sightseeing and going around the city, comfortable shoes and loose clothing. Dress modestly but no need to cover your head. For going out at night, providing you are with a driver and not walking in the streets, wear what you would wear to go out at home, plus a cover-all. A pashmina/scarf is good to throw around you in all situations, especially as some air-conditioned interiors can be very cold! In winter (December to early March) bring some warm clothes, especially for the evenings.

I can put you in touch with the right people to book trips further afield: Alexandria, Fayoum, Upper Egypt, the Red Sea etc.
